- Tyler State Park and Daingerfield State Park are often identified as the two prettiest state parks in Northeast Texas. Tyler State Park is a little closer and is a better fit for Scouts. Daingerfield is stringer as a destination for family camping.
- Tyler State Park has a permanent orienteering course set up and available for use at any time.
