- Worth Ranch is a Scouting summer camp and has all the facilities that this implies.
- Worth Ranch can be thought of as divided in three parts. The river bottom is lush, humid in summer, and has little or no breeze. There are two very cool sets of stone stairs going up from the river bottom to Fulkerson and Coca Cola campsites. The campsites in that row just above the rock cliff often have a refreshing breeze. Many of these campsites have large stone shelters with cement floors. Finally, to the east of the parade ground are Todd and Old Man Gillespie campsites. Todd is up on a commanding hill with a large clearing surrounded by trees.
- The hike out to Kyle Mountain is an excellent day hike. I have in the past seen evidence of old fire pits, but I would assume the council prohibits camping and campfires on Kyle Mountain unless you get permission allowing this. If allowed, backpacking out to camp on Kyle Mountain would be great overnight backpacking trip.
- Worth Ranch has a parade ground that really looks like a parade ground. And when summer camp, OA work weekends, and other events are held there, it is a living, breathing parade ground.
- When the Brazos River flow is sufficient, you can put your canoe in below Possum Kingdom Lake dam in the morning and pull out that afternoon at Worth Ranch. And then put back in the next morning to continue downriver.
